Il target di vendita iniziale di 60-70.000 unità annue per la Lancia Delta è parso fin da subito eccessivo, attualmente le vendite in Europa sono circa la metà di quelle preventivate. La Lancia Delta è assemblata nello stabilimento italiano di Cassino, dove vengono prodotte anche l'Alfa Romeo Giulietta e le Fiat Bravo e Croma. E' arrivata da poco sul mercato italiano la nuova Lancia Delta Hard Black 2010, la versione extra-lusso della berlina torinese caratterizzata dall’esclusiva colorazione nera opaca, cerchi in lega da 18″ ed interni elegantissimi con sedili rivestiti di Alcantara. Tra le concorrenti annoveriamo la Volkswagen Golf, l'Audi A3, la Volvo V50 e la Renault Laguna.
